Nas states, "Russell's staunch individualism in creative improvised music was far too infrequently documented, so for fans this will prove an invaluable piece of the big puzzle".〔(Allmusic Review ) accessed May 5, 2014〕 Harvey Pekar on JazzTimes observed "Russell appears on trumpet, and tenor and soprano sax.
